All,

The CODEC component is being released as a separate piece
of functionality which is already available in the popular
BASh component. The basic MD5 digest creation functions
available in the BASh component have been very popular among
4D developers, so we have created a separate component
containing just these methods. It is ideal for those
developers that do not want or need all of the functionality
within the BASh component (are there actual developers like
that).

It must be clearly noted that the CODEC component is not
compatible with the BASh component. All of the routines
available in the CODEC component are already available in
the BASh component. But, for those 4D developers that only
need MD5 digest creation functionality, the CODEC component
is a very compact implementation to be used. And, of course,
once the full functionality of the BASh component is need, it
is a simple enough matter to remove the CODEC component and
install the full BASh component.

All of the code within the CODEC component is ready to use
immediately. There are no compiler issues to be concerned
about; all of the variables are typed in compiler methods
for even the most stringent 4D developers. Just install the
component in your structure and start calling the methods
within it. It is _really_ that simple!
