WHAT'S NEW?:

AlternaTron 0.98 fixes some bugs, and adds a few little tweaks to the
interface (I'll get it right one of these times). I did fix a memory
issue that cropped up with a libray over about 16,000 tracks.

The menus now work properly, and you can control the playback with
menu shortcuts. I did add a new "Now Playing" interface, which favors
the playlist over the tracklist, and shows the album cover a little
bigger. It also will display anything in the comments ID3v2 tag, and
the lyrics tag. And that's the other new feature: lyrics! There's a
toggle in the Setup that will turn on auto-lyrics lookup (using
LyricTracker.com): when a song begins playback, AlternaTron will try
to find the lyrics if they are available. You can also click on the
"Lyrics" label on that window and change the submission information if
you are having problems finding the lyrics (you can also just paste
them in if you want). Also, you'll find the program should work fine
with the newly released firmware version 3.0

UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION:

If you're upgrading from a previous version of AlternaTron, simply
copy your data files (the .4DD and .4DR files) into the newly
installed folder and delete the old folder. (Upgrading from a version
before 0.95 requires you to re-synchronize your tracks in order to use
the Album view)

IF YOU'RE INSTALLING NEW:

When you first start AlternaTron, it will ask you to locate the data
(.4DD) file. Hit the "New" button and save your datafile in an
appropriate place. Follow the setup instructions from there. You
should enter the same IP address and login information that works for
you with the standard Audiotron web interface.

FIRMWARE:

AlternaTron 0.98 is tuned for the AudioTron firmware version 3.0
release. It's sometimes difficult to keep up with new firmware
releases from Turtle Beach: I might code around a problem in one
firmware version, and then they fix the issue on their side but it
breaks my code. Make sure you're not using versions 2.5.7 or 2.5.9,
these versions definitely don't work with AlternaTron because of a bug
in both of them. If you find problems with AlternaTron and a new
firmware version, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

COVER ART:

If you had a cover art directory setup in previous versions, go into
Setup and use "Import Cover Art" to bring all those files into the
data file.

SHARE ACCESS:

For best operation, you will need to have access to at least one of
your music share directories from the computer running AlternaTron.
Use this for defining the PlayList location. It is important to set
this up, even if you're not planning on creating playlists, as
AlternaTron uses a temporary playlist for many operations (this file
will be called "alternatron_temp.m3u").

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If you get a "Plugin Method cannot be executed" error, check to make
sure you have the entire zip file decompressed. On the Windows
platform, there should be a number of files, plus a Win4DX directory
in the same directory as the application. On the Mac, you'll have the
application plus the Mac4DX folder.

WHERE'S MY NEW MUSIC?

Any time you add new files to the AudioTron's recognized shares,
you'll need to select "Synchronize" before they'll show up in
AlternaTron's library. If you've just dropped new music on the shares,
hit the "AudioTron Update" button first to let the AudioTron recognize
the new files.

WHY DON'T MY ALBUM COVERS DISPLAY?

Cover Art display requires QuickTime, which can be found at
http://www.apple.com/quicktime.

I FOUND A BUG / WHY DOESN'T IT....?

Please send any feedback, requests, or bug reports to
justins1@leavensfamily.com. Or just tell me if you like it... I
started writing this software because it made me appreciate and use my
AudioTron even more. The fact that anyone else uses it just makes it
more fun! I've implemented lots of stuff based on feedback, so let me
know!

WHAT'S YOUR PLAN?

I still plan on a better playlist editor, as well as a playlist
generator... Also I'd like to add a page to set and access the
"Favorites" on the AudioTron, and possible set all the settings
(Clock, Network, Shares, etc) from AlternaTron. The future is wide
open!
