How To Report Spam

Deep Sky Technologies, Inc. offers a free spam filtering service. By scanning spam forwarded by our customers, we determine where the spam is being sent from and prevent spam from being received from that location. This page will tell you how to properly forward spam you receive with the information we need to determine where it came from.

When you receive an email, the email contains information about where the email came from and how it was routed to your computer. This is called the "header", and it contains information such as who the message is from, which server it was delivered from, and when it was sent. When spam is sent, most of this information is forged. Some lines, most importantly the Received: line, cannot be forged and are used to determine the original sender. Email programs generally shorten the header you see to a few lines. The following are examples of the regular and long header. Notice the first does not contain the Received: line.

Regular header:

In order for us to scan your spam, we need you to forward the long header of your email along with the spam itself. Most email programs do not do this automatically, and require you to take a few extra steps.

Everytime you forward a spam message to Deep Sky Technologies Inc., you help us prevent spam from being received in the future. Click on one of the links below to learn how to report spam with your email client.

Please note that this service is automated -- you won't receive a reply.
